Imaginify was a ... High-flying Schoolgirl

Ellie is a schoolgirl who flies planes in her spare time.

I flew solo on my 14th birthday

My teacher put me into isolation. We had to write about my weekend and I explained I flew a 1943 aircraft and spoke to an astronaut.

I play electric guitar

I am a high achieving STEM student during the school day and the youngest female solo pilot at the weekend. I also do some media/TV work.

What made you decide to do this?

I have always had a calling to fly. As soon as I could talk I wanted to be a pilot.

How long have you been doing it?

I started at age 9.

Do you have a mentor or anyone who supports you?

I have several mentors and would love to become one to other girls like me .

I have so many inspirations. I will mention my dad though.

My dad never expected me to wear pink. But he did an amazing dad thing by writing me 2 85,000 word novels about amazing girls in 1918. Those girls could achieve anything. It was a pretty special thing to do.

What do you wish you'd known 10 years ago? What difference would knowing that have made?

That there are bursaries and scholarships to support girls.

What are the best things about being a woman in an industry dominated by men?

Making a difference. Oh, and the assumptions that people make because I am a girl are often funny.

What advice do you have for girls or women considering a tech role?

Never let being different feel wrong. It's great to be unique.

What is your favourite quote?
